  3. Vaatasime täna kogu perega Uue Tseremooniat. Peresiseseid vaidlusi oli. Kolm demokraati ühe vabariiklase vastu. Tegelikult on see kole, kui sinu väikese maailmas põrkuvad mingid väga olulised arusaamad, isegi siis kui sulle tundub, et sa oled enamuses.
    Ja ikkagi. Ühelt poolt – suur muutus maailmas. Suur muutus sterotüüpides. Lootus. Ootus. Rahutus. Natuke emotsionaalset kõrgmeeleolu. Hirm. Ja ikkagi – lootus ja ootus.
    Võibolla ehk naiivsed mõtted ja tunded, sest ikkagi on tegemist ühe teise riigi presidendiga, samas – Selle Riigi presidendiga…
    Mina igatahes loodan. Edu mehele!

Obama on kahtlemata presidendi kohale väga sobilik isik, kuid kardetavasti peab ta vastu võtma väga palju ebapopulaarseid otsuseid – nimelt ei ole USA finantkriis ega majanduslangus mitte kuskilt otsast leevenenud vaid pigem hullemaks läinud. Täna lõpetasid USA börsid 4-5% MIINUSES, kuid Obama valimisvõidu järgselt olid nad suhteliselt tugevalt plusspoolel. See näitab kahtlemata turupsühholoogiat, mis ei oota järgnevatelt kuudelt mitte midagi paremat.

    Obama kui nn uue FDRi otsus hakata tegelema infrastruktuuriga on iseenesest väga hea, sest majanduslanguse ajal on selliste investeeringute tegemine odavam ning ei tekita valijates nii suurt pahameelt (ikkagi suured kulutused ju). Kahjuks ei ole suur osa maailmas ning ka Ameerikast aru saanud, et valitsuskulutused ei suuda majandust nii sügavast kriisist välja aidata. 1% majanduskasvu saavutamiseks peaksid valitsuse kulutused kokku suurenema rohkem kui langeb tarbimine (70% USA majandusest moodustab tarbimine) ning seda olukorras, kus consumer confidence on üks aegade madalaim!

    Ees on rasked ajad ning loodetavasti on Obama sama hea tegude mees, kui ta on oraator.
